Right now, over a million people across the south west are living in poverty, while more than 4.6 million tonnes of good-to-eat food is wasted every year across the UK food industry. That’s enough for over 10 billion meals.
FareShare South West – one of our chosen charities for 2024 – save that food from landfill and share it with people across the region living in poverty, reducing irreparable climate damage in the process.
On Saturday 5th October, three members of the Grosvenor team, Adam Jelley, Laylah Prentice and Cameron Walsh will put their nerves to the test and take on the incredible challenge of abseiling the iconic cliffs of the Avon Gorge in Bristol, raising money to help FareShare South West join the dots between hunger and food waste.
They’re each aiming to raise £274 – that’s enough to pay for three meals every day for a year for someone living in food poverty. If anybody is able to help with a small donation please visit our Just Giving page and please spread the word about this amazing adventure.
